HEICFlip

Convert HEIC/HEIF photos to JPG, PNG or PDF — entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Why your iPhone photos will not open

Since iOS 11 the iPhone has saved photos as HEIC rather than JPG. It is a genuinely better format — same picture, roughly half the file size — but support outside Apple's ecosystem is still patchy. Windows wants a codec, plenty of web forms reject it outright, and older software simply reports a broken file.

HEICFlip converts them to JPG, PNG or PDF inside your browser. The photos are decoded locally by a WebAssembly build of the HEIC decoder and handed straight back — no upload, which is the part that matters when the camera roll in question is personal.

Picking an output format

HEICFlip identifies HEIC by reading the file's own header rather than trusting the extension, so a photo renamed to .jpg by some other tool is still recognised for what it actually is.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Conversion happens on your own device; nothing is transmitted.

How many photos at once?

Batches of up to 20 are free. A one-time purchase removes the limit.

Will converting lose quality?

Converting to JPG re-encodes the image, so there is some loss — choose PNG if you need it lossless.
